Customer Sales & Service Representative
The focus of this position is to work with the agency's personal lines customers, but the ability to work with small commercial customers would be a plus.
Some duties of this position include quoting and selling new insurance policies, submitting applications, processing endorsements, submitting claims to insurance companies, answering phones, assisting customers and answering their questions, working with insurance company underwriters and adjusters, and handling other functions that are typical within an office environment.
The ideal candidate will be a reliable and flexible self-starter who embraces technology, has a cheerful attitude, a true desire to assist people, excellent communication skills and can work well in a small office environment that can range from very quiet to very busy.
Applicants must have:
- A minimum of 3 year's insurance agency experience
- A solid knowledge of personal lines (coverages, ability to rate and sell, claims handling)
- A valid Michigan P&C insurance license
- The ability to work comfortably with computers, office equipment and various software including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.), comparative rating systems (ACS), an Agency Management System, and with Internet-based systems used by the insurance companies
Our final selection will be based upon personal interview, references, a brief test on insurance coverages and possibly a Caliper Profile Assessment.
